Throughout my playing career the passion my coaches had shown me through their teaching helped me discover my own passion for coaching. Other than pushing myself to the top levels of my sport, my passion also lay in helping others get the most out of themselves. Coaching then became a natural progression for me. When I retired from tour life in 2013 I started out as an assistant in a Pro Shop and through the PGA of Australia I earned my Diploma or Sport Coaching and complimented this with a Cert IV in Fitness.
From mid 2013-mid 2015, I coached at a private elite golf school in Sydney along side some of Australia’s top golf coaches- Shane Puckett and Dale Lynch. Under the guidance of these coaches, I began honing my technical coaching skills and applied the information I learned as a player to help develop effective practice systems for the players.
In mid 2015 I changed roles and became the Junior Development Coach at Pennant Hills Golf Club in Sydney. In this role the Pennant Hills Junior Golf Academy was formed and now offers a full development pathway from beginner to advanced. As well as developing juniors, I coach players of all ages and abilities in private and group programs. The goal of each lesson is to bring out the best in that player through providing simple processes communicated and learned in a way that they understand.
As a former tour player I understand the pathway of hard work, dedication, preparation and the sacrifice required to achieve success on tour. Throughout my amateur and professional career I learned the important factors that contribute to touring success and the mistakes that many young amateurs and professionals make in their preparation and practice regimes. I have been fortunate to be able to work with elite amateur players guiding them on their path to achieving their goals. It is through my tour playing experience, continued research and mentorship from great tour coaches that I am in a position to guide younger players on their journey to greater golfing success.
